Welcome to 8th PreAlgebra and Algebra 1! I am very excited about the new school year and am looking forward to exploring new math concepts with your student. I realize the impact that I as your child's teacher will have on all our students, and I take it very seriously. It is important that I help students be successful in their current math course but that I also prepare students for all their future math courses. My goal is to make this math class a safe, enjoyable, and successful place to learn and be challenged.

 

I wanted to let you know about an approach to teaching that I will be using in all my classes. It is called the “flipped” classroom. The basic concept behind a flipped classroom is that what was traditionally done in the classroom becomes homework and what was traditionally done at home (homework) is done in the classroom.
