Student Focus
Math Pentathlon at the middle school level is for 6th and 7th graders. Students will learn a series of 5 games. Students will practice weekly from October through April, learning strategies and mathematical concepts. These games help students push the boundaries of their cognitive development.
Parent Volunteers
Math Pentathlon would not exist if we didn't have parent volunteers. We need volunteer at our weekly practices to help facilitate the activities. Adults will find the games fun and challenging and will be learning the games along with the students. On tournament day, we will need one adult per student to act as a game monitor. Training will be provided on being a monitor.
Math Pentathlon Tournament
Students will compete against students from around the Austin Metro Area on May 9, 2020 (location TBD). At the tournament students will demonstrate their mastery of the games while showing good sportsmanship. Students must shake hands with their competitor both before and after a game.
